Our Year 7,8 and 9 students are underway with their STEAM projects and spent the first day back in planning and brainstorming ideas for their various projects.
The Year 7 students have been working hard on their car safety project. Tuesday was spent researching car safety, including an understanding of safety ratings and the developments in car safety over the past four decades. Today the groups started to design their own car which would survive a crash. They are going through the design thinking process so they started by understanding the issues then formulated ideas as to how to make the car safe. They then built a prototype of their car and tested it. Tomorrow will be a day of refining their design before making their final wooden car which they will test on Friday.
